When I was a child I was given 10 1980 10 cent coins, 30 years later I have found them agin

Hello Fatgit,

The 1980 Hong Kong ten cent coin is quite common in circulated condition and is usually worth little if any premium.

An uncirculated coin's value depends very much on it's condition.

A 1980 ten cent coin graded MS63 by PCGS sold for $382.72 in July 2008. At the time PCGS had graded five in MS63 with six graded higher. As of today, PCGS has graded fifteen coins MS63 and twenty-four higher.

These would be uncirculated coin's

My late uncle who gave them to me, distroyed the 1980 batch of coins for the Royal Mint in Llantrisant.

They where buryed at a landfil site used by the mint and customs, these 10 are what he picked up after the job was done.
