1983 S10Y Proof Silver Panda
« on: November 03, 2021, 04:26:21 PM »
I would like to sell one, or perhaps two, 1983 silver proof pandas to fund other life adventures. If anyone is in the market, please contact me through PM, or comment below and I will reach out. I have a variety of graded and ungraded examples I could part ways with, NGC 67s, 68s, full OMP, etc., depending on your budget.

Any recommendations on where/how to sell if not through this forum?

Ebay has added many "improvements" that make searches more difficult and many Chinese are not there on a search.   Add different words or in different word arrangement to see what is missing.   Also, always scroll down and look at what ebay auto search provides.....

I have complained to ebay many times about their "improvements" as they are more detrimental than helpful.   Told them their competition sites are probably making improvement suggestions to frustrate ebay members so they move to other sites.   Ebay was once simple and effective but it has gone downhill when it comes to searches...

Ill do just that, adding different variations to the search. Thanks for the advice.

Will wait till it dips back to the 4k range before considering again.

That seller sends any 69 quality coin in for grading.  I have had significantly bad luck buying omp coins and sending them in for grading.

I had similar multiple bad experiences buying from someone at the Chicago show, all his omp grade below average for a typical omp.  I should stop buying from him and in general from anyone that submits coins regularly, I wrote something similar to that effect 12 years ago on this forum, it was good advice then and still valid.

Managed to get a 1983, looking at others now on his site.

To me, it is really hard to see the condition through omp and capsule even with a loupe let alone seeing lustre under 2 layers. Omp is sometimes a gamble, just bad luck to get lower grades but pays off tremendously if it gets a 70 at a cheaper price.

I guess Arif's point is that for this seller, there is strong adverse selection - given he sends whatever 69 level OMP for grading, the leftovers are less likely to be PF69. Of course that doesn't mean this piece is definitely not 69, it is just lower probability.
